Rainbow Trout

Native to cold (fresh) water tributaries of the Pacific Ocean, rainbow trout is named for the “rainbow” that can be seen when scales are refracting light.

Rainbow trout is a mild, delicate fish with what has been described as a nut like flavour and  is a source of several vitamins and nutrients, including B6 and B12 – which our bodies use to convert food into energy.  With fillets rich in colour, rainbow trout looks fabulous on any dinner plate.


Cooking Tip – Don’t overpower the delicate taste of rainbow trout with strong seasonings or sauces, a little butter, lemon and parsley is perfect for pan frying and enhancing the flavour of trout.
